Executive suite: At MediaNews Group Inc. of Denver, Sara Glines has been named vice president of field operations; previously, she was vice president of multimedia sales for the company's East Coast, Texas/New Mexico and St. Paul operations, a job she'd held for 18 months. Earlier, Glines did a 4-1/2-year stint as vice president of interactive for MediaNews' East Coast papers. Earlier still, she was in new media at both Journal Register Co. and Hachette Filipacchi, was editor-in-chief of New Jersey On-line from 1996-1999 and Sunday editor at the New Haven Register from 1993-1995. Glines, a second-generation newswoman -- her father, Jack Winning, edited newspapers in Chico, Calif. and Walnut Creek, Calif. -- got her start as a copykid at the San Francisco Examiner in 1980 and worked her way up to assistant metro editor. ... At Hearst Newspapers, Mark Aldam has been named executive vice president and the No. Two in the organization; previously, he was senior vice president and group publisher, a job he'd held for a little more than a year. Earlier, he was publisher of the company's New York newspaper, the Albany Times Union, a job he held for three years. Earlier still, Aldam was senior vice president and chief operating officer of Connecticut's Hartford Courant, where he had a 12-year career. Before going to Hartford, Aldam was chief financial officer and assistant treasurer of Eagle Publishing Co. in Pittsfield, Mass. ... JRC roles: At Journal Register Co.'s Michigan Cluster (Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens, Daily Tribune of Royal Oak, Oakland Press, et al.), Kevin Haezebroeck has been named senior publisher; he remains publisher of the Mount Clemens and Royal Oak papers and president of its Independent Newspapers Inc., a set of jobs he'd held since 2007. Earlier, he did two years as publisher in Oakland, and before that he was publisher of the Macomb Daily. A 23-year veteran of the news business, Haezebroeck has been with Journal Register since 1999 and earlier served as publisher of Morning Journal in Lorain, Ohio, and The Saratogian in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. ... At JRC's Ohio Cluster (the Lorain paper and The News-Herald of Willoughby, et al.), Jeffrey Sudbrook has been named senior publisher; previously he was publisher of the Journal, a job he'd held since 2004. Earlier, he was ad director at The News-Herald, where he had a 16-year career. ... At JRC's New York Capital-Saratoga Cluster (The Record of Troy, the Oneida Daily Dispatch, The Saratogian, et al.), Jim Murphy has been named senior publisher and publisher of the Oneida paper; he remains publisher of the Troy paper, a job he's held since last July. Earlier, he was advertising and marketing development director at The Post-Star in Glens Falls, N.Y., for three years. Earlier still, Murphy was ad director at The Citizen in Auburn, N.Y. He started his career as sports editor of the Oneida paper and later was editor-in-chief and general manager of the Catholic Diocese newspaper in Syracuse, N.Y. and on-line manager at The Observer-Dispatch in Utica, N.Y. ...
